Share this post: A 37-year-old former licensed insurance coverage representative was jailed Thursday on charges of taking about$600,000 from 18 victims through embezzlement and an insurance coverage scheme.Joseph Ramiro Garcia, formerly of Brea, was charged in December with 19 counts of grand theft, 7 counts of helping in an incorrect claim, three counts of theft from a senior adult, and a count of break-in, all felonies. He also deals with sentencing enhancement accusations for worsened white collar crime surpassing $500,000. Garcia is implicated of filing 7 deceitful life insurance coverage applications from December 2014 through January 2015 in which he collected about $20,382, according to the California Department of Insurance. He was also implicated of embezzling about$598,906 from 18 victims, according to an insurance coverage department detective in court papers. Garcia was also implicated of stopping working to roll over Individual Retirement Account and 401-K accounts for clients and swiping the money to spend on designer clothing, Disneyland season passes, restaurants and travel, according to
